An excellent first experience
As far as art is concerned it is not all that easy to take the plunge and buy it online, without having seen the work in question first. Having watched Artistics grow from its very beginnings and gladly received its newsletters introducing us to the intelligently selected new artists we finally decided to buy our first work for Xmas, a photograph by Christian Houge. The videos shown on the site and the valuable advice given greatly reassured us. The purchasing and delivery procedures are really premium. Great experience for a friend's birthday present. I discovered Artistics after seeing an article about a French artist (Romain Langlois) online. I sent Artistics an email to find out about the piece I saw, and they returned my email very quickly.
We exchanged several emails in which they provided me with all the information about the art, artist, and how a transaction would be handled – and then set up a live phone call to discuss the entire transaction.
All of my questions and concerns were answered, and I felt I was dealing with a reputable organization, so I decided to order the piece I was interested in, as well as another two that I came to love after learning more about the artist, and seeing more images of his art. All the packaging and shipping was arranged by Artistics via a professional, internationally respected, dedicated art shipping company. The pieces I ordered were very large, and very heavy – and everything was crated and packed safely and securely, and shipped from France to Canada in a very efficient, and, frankly, fast, manner. I told them there was no rush, yet, everything arrived sooner than I thought – I was very surprised.
The payments were done by wire, and even when my bank made a mistake, thereby delaying payment, Artistics was very understanding, notified me of the error, and allowed me to correct the issue with no hard feelings.
Artistics is who they represent themselves to be – a true web based, international are gallery / dealer who cares about the artists they represent, and the art lovers they bring together.
For anyone who feels uncomfortable making a major art purchase online, without actually going to see the piece in a gallery, you should feel comfortable in knowing that Artistics represents the art, and the artist, honestly and openly. When my pieces arrived, and were un-crated, they were actually better than I could ever have imagined. I could not be happier with the entire experience, and as for my purchases – I will be happy to look at them forever.

"Untitled III" and "Untitled IV" by Matthieu Venot and the magnificent piece by Cécile Bisciglia "Who's domesticating who" ("Qui domestique qui"). Cécile Bisciglia's canvas measures 200 x 200 so the delivery presented a sizable challenge (literally) that the Artistics team met with professionalism and faultless good humour. A huge penchant for the work of Norwegian photographer Christian Houge and therefore "Sunken Ship" is now on the walls of my apartment ! 200 cm x 60 cm of masterly snowyness ! Contemporary art collector for a good while, this was my first purchase on line. My wife and I were looking for a modern sculpture. But living in the Middle East, we did not have an easy access to the French art circuit.
