About the work :

Landscape of Kyoto – Silver pavilion is a diptych by contemporary Franco-Japanese artist Lumi Mizutani. In this series of figurative paintings, Lumi Mizutani pays tribute to the landscapes of Japan. Here, the artist chose to illustrate the Ginkaku-ji, literally “Temple of the silver pavilion” in Japanese. This building is a Buddhist temple located in Kyoto and built during the 15th century. Originally intended to be covered in silver leaves, this temple is nowadays an example of the sober refinement proper to the Japanese aesthetics.

This series is characterized by the use of India ink combined with colour and the use of gold, copper and silver leaves.

This artwork is a one-off piece signed and sold framed with its certificate of authenticity.

Dimensions of the artwork with its frame : 54 cm x 32.5 cm
