About the work :

White Cockatoo #1, Albuquerque, NM, 2016 is a photograph by American artist Brad Wilson. This fine art print represents an Indonesian white cockatoo.

Brad Wilson lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 2010, the photographer started his "Affinity” series, a highly ambitious and original project that presents portraits of wild animals in the studio. The choice of the subject was a true challenge for the artist: the animals are unpredictable and uncontrollable, and at times the artist may have to wait for hours before achieving the desired composition, that moment of deep connection with the animal that he wishes to reveal in each portrait.

Thanks to the black background which eliminates potential visual distractions, the focus is on the details of each animal and in particular on its eyes. The photographs seem unaffected by time and space, suggesting to the observer a reflection on the importance and the unique character of other species as well as on their relationship with human beings. Whether they are tigers, monkeys, snakes or rare birds, all the animals are always represented by the artist with great respect and dignity.

Brad Wilson’s prints are available in limited edition and in three different formats. The price indicated applies solely to the print, unmounted and unframed. For all specific requests regarding the mount and/or the frame please contact us. Each edition is sold with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
